The Stairs

The stairs at my house always seem to be the main attraction. I've caught the kids sliding down the stairs on a pillow with a mountain of pillows for the landing... I know once a kid jumped from the top stair to the bottom. I know they've slid, fell, skied, rolled, tumbled, jumped, leaped, coasted, glided, skipped, & skated down the stairs. They've driven every remote contol vehicle they've ever had down the stairs. More importantly these are just the things that I know about.... no telling what they've done when I wasn't around. But last night I saw something I've never seen before.

Yes I know a stair step of kids. We actually didn't have enough steps for kids... they had to take turns.

And they made a game out of it, using my big red workout ball. (good thing someone's getting some use out of that ball, because I sure haven't)

They were having a ball, laying on the stairs rolling that ball down and then passing it back up.

Pretty soon they had an audience.

I don't think I've lauged that hard or heard so much laughter in a long time.

Yall come see us and you can play on the stairs too!

Ree-ah-doe-sah

We took the boys to Ruidoso. You know the New Mexicans say it Ree-o-doe-soo and us Texans say it like this Ree-ah-doe-sah. Course we say, hi yall and can I have some Ice -Tea, too.

Anyway, we skied one day. Just so happens Cousin Bray was up at Ree-ah-doe-sah too.

It was his first day to ski and he did great.

My favorite part is riding the lift. Ok, ok I admit, it's because I like to rest.. I'll admit too.. snow skiing pretty much kicks my booty these days.

The boys begged to go to Walmart for fishing poles. They wanted to fish.

We'll be back so they can fish! I'll guarantee that!

After a nice 3 day weekend, sadly =( it's time to go back to work.

Camo Christmas

Seems like this Christmas was all about the camo.

Mimi bought all the kids camo and don't they sport it well.

Of course, Scouty had to be coaxed to wear hers over her princess dress.

I'm proud to say I was the one that convinced her.

Back at the Backward K, Mr. Pake got his first .22.

It's a Henry and it's so cute, I think I want one in pink!

(btw to explain Tater's greasey atire... well he'd been working at Roll-a-Cone)

Soo all this holiday break, it's been all about hunting jackrabbits.

To sum it all up, I just had to put this picture in of KD sporting his new camo and fur Elmer Fudd.

I hope Santy came to see all y'all, and come to think of it Santy would be cute in camo too!

Two Sweeties

the Big Kid Trip

Last weekend we called this cute little cabin home!

We took alittle 3 day big kid trip.

Fact is, we acted like big kids.

We went tubing.

And what could be more fun than tubing?

Well SHOPPING of course, and this was my favorite shop in Ruidoso.

And can yall BELIEVE that KD shopped with me? It's true, it really happened.

Snow Baby

We got some snow last week and boy howdy were we happy!

Two days we started school late, so what did the boys do?

Yep they went sledding.

It was like sledding in snowy dirt but it was fun anyway, even if it was like 5 degrees.... brrrr!

I stayed on the porch to shoot this picture.

Sled? Yall don't think this looks like a sled? Well Pake made it out of a chemical tote. He cut the metal cage off of it and then cut the top off. It made a great sled, and adds to the rest of the junk my boys drag up in the garage. Now, we're just waiting for the BIG snow =)

Alittle Red Paint

K Dawg (aka Kerry Don) went to Wakeeney, Kansas to pheasant hunt last weekend. He had a great trip! They had some great hunting and got to see some snow too! Thank you Cousin Wade for taking him away! Oh not really I don't mean that, we missed him =)

While he was gone, I had to have a project.........

I started with this old armoire that has been sitting in the corner of my living room. It really wasn't anything special, constructed of cheap thin wood, but it was old and alittle ornate. It didn't belong to anyone in my family, I picked it up at a junk store years ago for a 100 bucks.

So.... I got alittle crazy with some RED paint.

Half way through I could tell I liked it. So I went ahead and slapped two coats of red on

and I do mean slap because I am quite possibly the messiest painter EVER.

Of course I couldn't just leave it plain ole red.

So after getting a little crazier with a sander and some glaze. I was happy with it.

Then, I got to thinking about that little dresser in the guest room. It wasn't anything special either (wood wise anyway), it was special in that my Momma gave it to me, but I figured she wouldn't mind.

And you guessed it, I slapped some red paint on it and sanded and glazed it too! I have 2 new pieces of furniture and it didn't cost me a dime, because I already had left over paint and glaze from other projects. By the end of the day, I was alittle worried and I knew someone needed to take the red paint away. Did I mention I like red? But I might have painted enough stuff red for awhile ;)

K Dawg was sooo excited and impressed when he got home!

Ha/Ha, he barely noticed but he's not really into interior decorating.

Thankfulness

Thanksgiving is not really just all about the FOOD. Really it's not it's about FAMILY too! I mean we all look forward to the turkey, dressing, gravy, ham, mashed taters, sweet potatoes, green beans, fried okra salad, corn casserole, hashbrown casserole, macaroni, every kind of salad imaginable, fresh bread, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, naner puddin', lemon bar thingies, red velvet trifle, millionaire pie, cherry pineapple cobbler, and a birthday cake whew, that's all I can remember.... wait maybe that's everything I ate! Not really but almost.

This Lady is the one that started it all! Grandma Byrd with a few of her great great grandkids...

These are the great great grandkid's parents..... so actually these are Grandma Byrd's grandkids. In other words, they're all first cousins too! Sorry I'm not trying to confuse y'all or anything.

Grandma's is connected to Roll-A-Cone and there is the famous bird cage that the Byrd family has had for years. Through out the years, there have been many different kinds of birds in the cage. But those aren't birds the kids are holding, you say?! I know.... they're Guinea pigs... yes and rabbits. Don't ask me why? Ask Dan.... but the kids love them and I guess that's really all that matters.

Speaking of Dan, he hit me up awhile back and asked if I wanted to be partners on some monkeys for the Byrd's bird cage.... I was tempted but then found out they were pretty pricey!

(Y'all think I'm making this one up, but I promise every bit of it is true)

So, I ran in the house and told Dan his dream had in fact come true...

he had monkey's in his cage!

These monkeys, I meant boys are pretty handsome!

These twins are cuter than a button and I would love to take them home.... I just can't tell them apart.

So when I took this twin's picture I said, "So which one are you honey?"

He said, "I'm Tweven"

I said ok, "Trevyn you and Rali smile for me!"

Then, he said, "Not willy, I'm Twace."

I replied, "Trace you little rat, you're 4 and already tricking people!"

Did I mention, I would love to take the twins home!

Well maybe it's because y'all need to know how much of a hard time Mr. Dan gives me!

And last but certainly not LEAST, it was DeDe Shawn's birthday and we had to celebrate.

Also, meet her new puppy and birthday present... Sinnamon, she's a chocolate brown cockapoo!

No y'all, Kennedy doesn't spoil her!

We're so blessed and we had such a full, our cup runneth over, day!

Hondas in the Hood

We might drive GREEN tractors, but when it comes to motorcycles they've gotta be RED.

I just thought this was a purty sight with 4 Hondas almost all the same size lined up in a row.

I had to take a picture and play like I'm a photographer when y'all all know I'm so NOT.

Then I got the Honda owners and made them pose for me.

And then I said, "OK silly pose, y'all be silly!"

Then, they wouldn't quit posing.... well my punks wouldn't.

With this particular punk, it got completely out of hand! BUT seriously are y'all surprised?

Pokey's Rodeo

The Jumpin Jack Rabbits from Tulia qualified for Pokey the Clown's World Championship Junior Ranch Rodeo during the real Ranch Rodeo finals.... ok that's totally a mouth full. Anyway, it was some serious competition.

These boys in pink didn't mess around...

Maybe their coach let them down....

They did awesome! They got 2nd though and you can see in their faces, just a hint of disappointment. See y'all Pokey gives really nice prizes: a buckle, a brand new HAT and a twisted X BOOTs! Funny thing is, another team in pink barely beat them.

Awww shucks.... there's always next year =)

BUT these little Tulia guys won in their division, talk about some handsome little fellars!

We always look forward to the Ranch Rodeo finals! 2011 certainly did not disappoint.

I had so many pictures, so here are just a few....

Who won the whole rodeo? Yep these guys who just happens to be Rodey Wilson's team. He's the kind cowboy that gave Pake the buckle at Justin's Benefit.

The BIGGEST celebrity there and I do mean the biggest weighing in at a whopping 6 pounds is Whiplash, the monkey cowboy. By the way, he's a sheep herder too!

The Bud horses are celebrities too me.... I love them!

And this cowboy.... who is he? Oh wait that would be Mr. Pioneer Woman.... I meant Marlboro Man. The Drummonds had a team and it was neat watching them!

And here she is, Pioneer Woman herself. I shot this picture from across the way. I had the opportunity to say hi, and get a picture with her... do I have that picture? NO! The picture didn't take =( I'm so sad, I could just cry! All I can tell you is she's very tall and very pretty and I probably looked totally short and fat beside her, so maybe I didn't want the picture anyway! That's what I keep telling myself.

The most famous celebrities of the whole rodeo, the most famous to me anyway, are these punks!

4 Wheels

You never know what a typical Saturday night might be for us, but you can always guarantee it'll involve 4 wheels. See the irony is I grew up on 4 hooves..... but now it's all about the 4 wheels.

It might be 4 tractor wheels, 4 ATV wheels, or 4 hot rod wheels, but it'll be 4 wheels.

We went to the Mini Sprint Car Championship in Amarillo. The other irony is this was the weekend of the fall Nascar race in Texas! Well we missed that, but we went racing anyway!

We took a crew of boys as always. I love seeing the excitement in their eyes. They love everything to do with racing and action. It was fun! This was just a typical 4 wheel hot rod racing Saturday night!

My oldest is all grown up. He's been working on the cotton harvest crew.

Kinda makes me sad... sniff, sniff

He runs the module builder all by himself... well except for his little helper.

He's not too fond of little brother helping though... he says he doesn't need his help or want it.

These big ole deeres strip the cotton that my punk packs into a module.

In fact, he was called to the field on our way home, and that's where he is as we speak....

In the meantime, Tater and I are off to his last soccer game.

Hornet Homecoming

Last week was homecoming in hornet land!

The homecoming queens rode in a convertible. My niece was a candidate!

The court was beautiful and they decided to go barefoot.

So we put their shoes under their chairs.

Did I mention my niece, Marli, was a candidate?

Did I mention my niece was crowned THS Homecoming queen?

Did I mention Tate had a date?

Pake did too!

Then, we played some hornet football and the hornets fought hard. Unfortunately our little team has already been plagued with major injuries. However, I bet these kids will always remember their homecoming!

Justin Bradley's Benefit Ranch Rodeo

Last night we honored an outstanding man and he just happened to be a cowboy. A cowboy that we sure are missing. Everytime I see his paint horse it hits me that he really is gone. Everyone came together this weekend to celebrate Justin's life and donate to his wife and baby Pecos who we all can't wait to meet. It always amazes me how so many people come together and do awesome things at times like these. Thanks to everyone that donated and helped with the rodeo and silent auction.

There are so many people to recognize but Nicki Sturgess, I just want to say you did an awesome job with the silent auction!

And thanks to all the cowboys too! There were 26 teams!

The Happy Toy Maker is always a hit with the kids. Yes Tate won a set of panels in the silent auction. He had more fun bidding and watching the bid to make sure he still had it.

KD helped Keith cook. Thanks Keith for all your hardwork.

Tripp entered Sandhill. Thank you Sandhill, Tripp, Riley and Red and the other guys on the team!

Sandhill was second and they donated their winnings back to Brittany and Pecos. I can't thank you guys enough. I also want to thank Bonnie Concho for donating a cap to the silent auction.

Another awesome thing happened last night, Tripp's friend Rodey from the winning team gave his buckle to Pake..... it's the sweetest thing I've ever experienced in my life. Brings a tear to my eye.

Pake is one happy kid.

Rodey Wilson thank you for doing something so special for my boy.

I wish I had a picture of Rodey and Pake.... maybe we can get one at the finals in November.

Football y Futbol

It's fall y'all and with fall comes football and in our case futbol (aka soccer) too!

Pake's a big bad 7th grader and he's playing "real" football for the Tulia Dobbers.

He's been playing defensive corner.

The Dobbers are 2 for 2.

Tater is playing futbol on the Magic team. By the way, that's cousin Jerzi on the opposing team.

Tater Jack has scored a few goals. Team Magic is 3-1.

Then after soccer we head over for football practice.

Tater is also playing 3rd & 4th grade tackle football for the Hornets. I've always said there's no way we'd do two sports at once, but see Tater has lots of energy and we're trying to keep him busy.

It's the first year for these guys to play tackle football, but they're learning and having a blast.

The ole Excursion has a few more miles on it.... but it's been fun!

The Badger Story

Y'all ain't gonna believe this! Wait..... no if y'all know us actually you probably will.

Well y'all know my husband likes to collect critters. AND he's always wanted a badger. Yes I said a badger. Why? Heck if I know, you'll have to ask him. ANYway, here's our badger story....

KD calls, "Hey Pake saw a badger go in hole over on the Keim place, you know right there where they swathed the corn stalks. So we put a shovel in the hole and we're headed to get the water truck, you wanna come take some pictures?"

My reply, "Whatever, last time you had this bright idea it was just a skunk!!!!"

Anyway, I grabbed my camera and jumped in the pick-up.

Sure enough Pake wasn't seeing things, as soon as they started the water shooting down in her hole, here she came. Pake was so excited, "It's a badger! It really is!"

And I'll be durn if it wasn't a badger. I've never seen one for more than a few seconds. KD pulled the trigger and he still hasn't stopped smiling about gettin him a badger!

We have quality family time together, drowning out badgers on a Sunday afternoon.

Who knew the water truck could be so useful?

She was so nasty and smelled almost as nice as a skunk.

So KD promptly called his taxidermist (he has him on speed dial) and asked what we needed to do.

"Should we wash her? Blow dry her before we put her in the freezer?" I'm serious, I'm not making that part up.

Yep y'all guessed it, they washed and blow dried her. Yes they used my blow dryer.... I'm still not sure how I feel about this. I might need counseling.

Then, I proudly texted all my friends and family the picture. Tori, my baby sis, matter of factly, texts me back. Did you know that dachshunds are badger hunting dogs? Come to find out her and Scout had been reading a book about dogs and they learned this valuable fact.

I didn't really believe my sis, so I looked it up on Wikipedia and sure enough.....

The dachshund (UK: /ˈdæksənd/, US: /ˈdɑːkshənd/, German: [ˈdaksˌhʊnt]) is a short-legged, long-bodied dog breed belonging to the hound family. The standard size dachshund was bred to scent, chase, and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature dachshund was developed to hunt smaller prey such as rabbits. In the American West they have also been used to hunt prairie dogs.

Well I'll be durn, we got us a badger hunting dog and didn't even know it.

More About Miley

I think she looks like a blue heeler, well except that she's tiny and her body is long and her legs are short. But other than that, I think she might pass as a cowdog.

Labor Day and Some Stitches

Labor Day this year brought some nice cool weather!

So we rode!

And we fished!

Speaking of Tate.... boy do I have a story to tell! Warning though this next picture is not pretty.

If you have a weak stomach.... don't look.

I warned you!

Yes that's Tate's chin, and that's all his double chin fat looking all nasty and gross.

So he got 13 stitches.

So what the heck did he do? Well here's the story....

We were at the lake. We'd just had our traditional Saturday night steak night and we were cleaning up, when I hear the scream "MOMMA!!!" You know the scream that scares the snot out of you, the scream that you know something is wrong. I drop everything and run to him and he's holding his neck. I figured out real quick that there was in fact blood. I sorta panicked and then I got it together and we loaded him up and took him to the ER. So all the way to the ER, KD and I keep asking him. "Tate what did you do?" All he'd say was, "I fell out of the pickup."

So we get in the ER, the nurse asks him his name, his age, etc.... and what happened. Then, these are the words that came out of my youngest punk's mouth, "Well I was trying to do a front flip out of the side of the pickup" So the story finally comes out. He was using the bed of the pickup like monkey bars, he was going to flip his body over but keep holding on and he caught his chin on the tire well. Thankfully, it wasn't worse. He promises this is the last stunt he's going to pull like this....

I hope I can believe him.

Feedin'

After weining some of our calves, KD decided to start a feedyard. I can't decide if we should call it KD Adams Farms Feedyard or The Backwards K Feedyard or The Roll-A-Cone Feedyard or should we just call it a feedlot. Ok I know I'm being quite dramatic. But times are tough with this drought and frankly we don't have anything else to feed these calves. So we're feeding them canola pellets and hay and we're just thankful that we're still able to feed them.

I've heard KD say before.... I'll never be in the feedlot business.

Well KD you should never say NEVER, cuz you're in the feedlot business.

But look at this face.... you'd go in the feedlot business for a face like that wouldn't you?

Any how, that's the story around here. We get up and we go feed. The next day we get up and we go feed. And we keep praying for rain, so we can turn these calves out on wheat.

Tar Baby

This is a road..... a road that we happen to drive down everyday, well when we go to town anyway.

This road needs some work every 5 years or so.... and no we can't call the highway department.

This road would be dirt if Papa Byrd hadn't paved it many years ago, I hear in the '60s.

I'm sure glad he paved it. And I'm sure glad for my husband who repaved it.

This is the machine that KD used to spread the tar....

it's the orginal machine Papa used almost 50 years ago.....

KD said it's on its last leg, but it worked one more time.

Butch gives us the thumbs up as he heads out to spread the tar.

Tar is messy by the way.... you don't want it on your clothes, your feet, or your car that's for SURE!

Tarring the road really isn't that fun, but these guys managed a smile.

Maybe it's because we took them burritos and gatorade.

I just knew yall would be SOOOO interested in this!

Tarring the road is a BIG deal, especially when your husband is the one doing it.

By the way, he wore the same clothes and boots for 3 days and we just threw them away.

Farewell Cowboy

We lost a good cowboy today. Justin we will miss you!

I loved taking Justin's picture.

He was awesome with the boys too!

I'm really at a loss of words today, so saddened that Justin had to leave us at such a young age.

Unfortunately, my family understands this tragedy too well, as we lost our Dad to a horse accident too.

Our prayers and thoughts are with Justin Bradley's wife and family.

Pretty Pendaries

Pendaries (pronounced pan-da-ray) is in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico.

It's kinda pretty.

Maybe pretty doesn't even begin to describe it.

Pake liked Pendaries too!

I wouldn't mind going back to Pendaries.

It was kinda pretty.

As for our golfing game, well that wasn't so pretty,

but we had a pretty good time!

A Big BASS Story

Last weekend we discovered something pretty awesome. We discovered

Lake Alan Henry located about 15 miles from Post, which is only about 2 hours from our casa.

See my oldest Mr. Pake Ryder, likes to bass fish. He talks about bass fishing ALL the time, he will talk about bass fishing to anyone that will listen, AND he buys bass fishing stuff everytime we go to town.

Little brother, he likes bass fishing too, almost as much as brother, but he lacks patience.

Well truth be told sometimes his Momma lacks patience as well.... I don't know where he got it from =)

As for the boss man, bass man, anyway, unlike our youngest, thankfully he has lots of patience.

He has patience with all of us, untangling our lures, lines etc.... thank you Mr. K Dawg!

So, the good news is that everyone caught a bass the first day...... EXCEPT for me of course.

The next morning we got on the water at 6 AM.

It was a beautiful sunrise, and Pake was smiling because he just knew we were going to catch all kinds of bass. The bad news is that we didn't! Not that morning anyway....

But finally I caught one! This was my first BASS ever!

Later that afternoon, at the Lodge, Tater caught a snake. I guess this snake really liked his rubber frog.

Anyway, I just had to throw this in there.... sometimes I'm random like that ;)

So on our last day of fishing, Mr. Pake continued to dominate and catch the most bass.

This nice large mouth bass was a whopping 2 pounds.

Yep Mr. Pake just kept catching and catching spotted bass and large mouth bass

until KD just pushed him in...

Then, I caught the 2nd bass of my whole life and he was so cute BUT so tiny.

So I just decided to kiss my bass!

We finished off the day tubing.

The Little Red Bass Boat wasn't quite as fun as Big Green, the ole ski boat,

but the boys tubed their little basses off anyway!

Of course, they asked all the way home when we're going back.....

I have a feeling we'll see this lake again soon and hopefully we'll catch lots of bass!

Stilts

Stilts? Yes stilts! So yall wonder what all we do for fun at MacKenzie Lake campground?

Well, sometimes we walk on stilts! Well I don't, but many others tried.

Justin and Kerry Don just had to try.

This picture just cracks me up... while Danny never walked on the stilts, he was sure helping Michelle.

The Montana kids walked on them too! I'm so thankful my kids didn't try.

Well except for this big kid of mine, he wouldn't give it up.

I was scared to death we were going to be on the way to the ER, but thankfully no one fell, not even KD.

Almost all the Adams' family were in town a couple weeks ago, so they all came over for hamburgers.

Brenden, Kaitlyn, Cimarron, Tate (he's mine in case you didn't know), & Kyser.

I'm just glad Marli got them all together for a picture =)

Kerry Don, his brothers & parents chatting it up after supper. I'm pretty sure there might have been some farm talk involved. I couldn't be certain, but I'm thinking it's a strong possibility.

In the meantime, the Adams' sister-in-laws (bless our hearts) had a nice visit too!

Backwards K Backyard

The backyard needed some help... Serious HELP!

Here's a before picture (only one I could find, yes that's KD shooting a potatoe gun)

Anyway, it was pretty sad. Seriously sad.... just a trampoline and some grass.

I mentioned to KD that it would be neat to have a little fire pit.

So we called in the professionals, and boy did we get a fire pit and then some!

Meet Emilio... he's awesome! He layed the checkered blocks and brick trim.

He also did all the rock and brick on my house. Thanks Emilio!

Meet Dusty....

he's the MAN when it comes to concrete.

He's an artististic talented creative hardworking concrete man!

Ok I have to stop now or he'll get a big head.

But anyway thanks Dusty for everything and for power washing my balcony and patio!

His crew poured the concrete, stamped it, sanded it, stained it and stoned it.

As I recall I cooked for these guys and made them homemade ice cream...

so guys please don't forget to come SEAL it =)

Pokey the Clown Came to Town

During all the Tulia Picnic festivities this year, Pokey the Clown came to town to put on his Jr. Ranch Rodeo. Both of my punks participated along with some of their cousins and friends.

A LARGE time was had by all.

Meet the 4 Stooges.... Meghan, Tate, Logan and McCarley.

They hustled and worked well together.... it's all about the team work!

Tater branded for his team. The 4 Stooges did an awesome job!

Meet the Jumping Jack Rabbits: Bray, Matt, Pake & Hunter.

They worked great together and it sure helped that Matt and Bray are like lightening FAST!

Here the 4 Stooges and the Jumping Jack Rabbits competed against each other in the Wild Cow Milking.

It was a close race, but the Jumpin' Jack Rabbits came out on top!

They'll be going to Amarillo to the finals in November.

These little guys will be going too: Caden, Brodey, Cole & Hadley.

Let me tell y'all, these little future cowboys are sooo fun to watch,

I mean like slap your leg and laugh 'til your sides hurt kind of funny.

We're glad Pokey the Clown came to town!

The 4th Without Fireworks

It was the 4th of July

fireworks were outlawed,

the lake was just about dried up,

and it was HOT and windy!

But we made the best of it

Yes we did indeed

We went ATVin!

We found Dusty's crack. NO not that crack!

A huge crack in the rock, so big that kids can walk through it.

And yes Dusty just happens to be the one that found it!

I tried to capture this crack but I'm not sure I was successful.

Let me just say I didn't want to fall in the crack.... that's for sure.

The kicker IS that it's not that easy to get to Dusty's crack. Some of the trails were alittle scarey.

It took several guys to get the motorcycles up.

We wenched up a couple fourwheelers.

Well "they" did, I just took pictures.

Again, this hill doesn't look too bad but it was STEEP and rocky.

They named it Pake's Peak. We also went up Bray's hump.

Needless to say, Bray and the hump didn't get along so well.

But everyone made it!

Todd and Dawn made it just fine in their RZR.

Kerry Don says the RZRs are like goats... ain't no where they can't go!

I was so glad to be the passenger and not the driver!

Anyway, we had a good weekend but it just didn't seem like the 4th of July.....

Port A

We love Port A! Port Aransas, Texas that is!

We got to spend a few days down by the ocean last week.

First rattle out of the box, we got in trouble for feeding sea gulls in the ferry line!

I told them it couldn't be right, but they didn't listen.

Tami took this picture of us in front of them, what a sight we were.

Actually I'm kind of embarrassed.... lol but it was funny and it was all KD's idea.

As soon as we got across on the ferry, we bought the kids boogy boards and headed for the beach!

The waves were great!

They rode a few!

Riding waves is awesome =)

Then, we fished, deep sea that is. We passed some pretty awesome ships.

This Japenese, Chinese, Oriental ship anyway, was massive, I'm talking HUGE.

We had a great day on the 8 hour! Snapper and shark =)

KD and Pake went on the 12 hour too and they caught a ling. Ling is the BEST I've ever had!

It's almost as good as steak!

Here's the deep sea fishing crew on the first day! The boat limited out on snapper and shark.

Speaking of shark, the kids almost got swallowed by one. Really they did!

The last day we walked out on the pier, it was something we've never done.

But it was a great view.

We ate at the Crazy Cajun too! Shrimp Boil just dumped on the table. YUM =)

We dropped KD & Justin off at a golf course. They said the course was tough, but beautiful.

Then, all the fun was over and this is the last shot I got on the ferry early the morning we left.

We golfed in a 4-man scramble for my club, Kaleidoscope to benefit City Church. Pake played too and I'm so upset I didn't get a picture of his team. This was no boring serious tournament, it was all about the fun. We had to tee off on a mattress, putt with a pool stick & hammer & we got 5 feet of string for our mullies. We attdended a birthday party at my brother and sister's feedyard. I know exactly what you're thinking.... a birthday party at a feedyard? That's just not right! Actually it is just right. Right in the middle of a sandy round pen which is almost like the beach. They had a slip in slide, a water tank swimming pool, a calf scramble, a pinata and brisket nachos! It was a large time.

The Little Red Beauty Shop

A friend of ours recently moved from Silverton and she couldn't leave her cute little beauty shop behind. I say little, it's just 14' by 30'. So KD, not knowing how heavy it was said, sure I'll move you're little building for you. Afterall, she is the secretary at the family's farm implement business and she's helped KD out ALOT!!!! Thanks girl!

So here goes the story of moving the little red beauty shop from Silverton to Tulia.

KD finally backs the trailer under the building in Silverton, after we had to send for a 3rd forklift.

It hung off the sides of the trailer about a foot on each side and a foot off the back.

But we hauled it all the way from Silverton, it was soo heavy they didn't even have to tie it down.

This is Lisa's backyard in Tulia.

KD backs the building into her backyard.... after backing down 2 blocks of alley.

Here the 3 forklifts hold it up, right after the pickup pulled the trailer out from under it.

Golfin' With My Punks

It was a beautiful morning on the golf course.

My punks came along....

They enjoy the game and....

they're BOTH leftys (I haven't EVER mentioned that before or have I?)

They're such sweet boys...

don't worry though they act like little turkeys half the time!

We played 15 holes and I only wanted to hit them with a club a couple time...

not really I love golfing with my boys, I just wish KD could have been there too!

BTW, if you're in to golfin', come on out for a round at Tule Lake Golf Course.

Yes the fairways are dry but considering the drought... it still looks pretty darn good!

A Short Road Trip

Pake had a follow-up appointment at Scottish Rites in Dallas.

First, we had to go to Cabelas in Fort Worth!

The boys REALLY like this place!

A day at Cabela's is a day in heaven for my punks.

So after Pake's appointment, we went to Oklahoma. We visited Lake Texoma.

We visited my Uncle Eddie and he took the boys for a spin on his RZR!

My Uncle lives in the woods near Lake Texoma... it was a neat place and the boys loved it!

Next we caught up with my Aunt Brenda Kay. It was great to see her!

We finished the day off with Hopey and Aunt Jan (and Montana, Hopey's daughter). It was awesome to see everyone! I'd like to thank Aunt Jan for letting us crash at her place. We also saw Mikka and her kids, but guess what? I didn't get a picture with them and I'm still kicking myself!

So after our short 1/2 day visit, we headed out over the Lake Texoma Dam and said good bye to a beautiful lake with lots of pretty water. Of course, the boys want to know when we're going back so they can go fishing!

My Hometown

Ever so often, I have to sneak over to Earth, my hometown.

Usually I call my brother up and ask if I can dump my punks off with him.

They like to play cowboy.

They like to go to brandings, too. Brandings are just the highlight of the cowboy life this time of year. Consequently, after a full day of playing like they were "real cowboys," they inform me they want horses. I reminded them that they have motorcycles..... BUT actually I don't think I've heard the end of it!

In the meantime, I was shopping. Yes shopping with the girls at their new shop.

It's in downtown Muleshoe and it's WAAAY cute, with REALLY cute stuff.

Bonnie Concho is the name and you should stop by if you're in Muleshoe.... you won't regret it!

Of course, you can't go to Muleshoe without visiting Aunt Pat, aka The Goat Lady.

I don't know their names but I just don't think there's anything cuter than a kid goat!

Actually baby RENO is cuter. He's a doll and have I ever mentioned,

So while the boys and I run around, Kerry Don and the crew have been working on the farm.

Sorry KD, but I did bring yall ice cream, BUTTERfinger ICE cream =)

We're loving the days of summer,

but in the back of my mind I can't stop from worrying it'll all be over too soon!

An Old Grain Elevator

What little bit of wheat we'll cut this year, will be stored in this old elevator KD is leasing.

It's been fun seeing how it works. Chad likes climbing to the top!

I took the crew a BBQ sandwich and of course JoeByrd had to stop by and see what we were up to.

After taking lots of pictures, I realized Tater had in fact enjoyed his BBQ sandwich.

Pake well he's serious..... he's serious about farming too!

So they'll be hauling wheat seed to this old elevator. Usually during wheat harvest we worry that we'll get rained out... well doesn't look like we'll have to worry about that this year! Is it ever going to rain y'all?

Baseball Baby

The boys signed up to play baseball this year. I have to say I really didn't even know anything about baseball. Yes I'll admit, I didn't even know what an inning was. I know it's pathetic, totally embarrassing. However, I can now say (thanks to Traci) that I know what an inning is and a few other things. Baseball is pretty fun after all!

Pake's up to bat for the Astros. He's on the same team as Hunter; James and Coey are the coaches.

I admire anyone brave enough to coach little league... I'm just saying! So thanks guys.

Mr Lefty had some good hits this year.

First base.... ready for some one to bring him home!

Mr. Tater Jack played machine pitch for the Orioles. He played short stop!

He's another lefty!.

It's been fun out at the ball park. I learned a few things about baseball and perhaps the most important is.... don't forget your sunflower seeds!

18 Years Ago....

Just a short, eighteen years ago.... Miss Bay was born in June soon after KD and I married.

She is the first Tulia Adams' cousin to graduate, now we only have 11 more to go!

Our boys have always thought she was totally IT.

She babysat my punks many times and they love her!

That is a table full, most of them Adams..... yes there's a bunch of us.

You wonder where they all came from? Yep... see the resemblance in the brothers?

See the resemblance in these cousins? Some mistake them for twins.

They'll be 4th graders and what I can't understand is that they were just babies a few months ago!

These girls aren't cousins... they're sisters! They are the babies of the family and they are so CUTE!

Oh and they told me those aren't pig tails... No ma'am they're braids.

We had a couple other graduates in the family from other towns on the same night
and we're sooo proud of you girls too!

Graduation always makes me sad and HAPPY all at the same time,

but one thing is certain, it's officially summer!

Back At the Ranch

Branding time rolled around, so we headed up to Channing for a morning of fun at the ranch.

The boys got to flank a few. Just a few though because most of the calves were too big for them to handle.

Pake and Hunter flanked one too!

And they thought it was lots of fun... but flanking wasn't enough....

Tate decided he wanted to ride one....

he fell off!

Pake had to try too!

He rode for half a jump....

it got alittle western.

After this weekend.... they want to be cowboys!

Tate played with... well you know the little things we count to see how many bull calves there were...

Justin did an awesome job draggin!

We sure appreciate all of our neighbors that come out to help!

Redneck Country Bumpkin Landscaping, Part II

I haven't had much to blog about, not because we haven't been busy, mainly because I haven't been taking pictures. I know that's a shocker! We've been playing baseball, golfing, celebrating Cinco de Mayo and birthdays and NO!, I know, I haven't been taking pictures! SHAME SHAME on me!

Anyway, we've been working in the yard so here are some updates on

my Redneck Country Bumpkin Landscaping project!

We planted a few Sundays back and it was a job!

Good thing I had some helpers, because we couldn't have done it with out them.

Tater was great help, especially when we let him drive!

Coey helped too, and when he pulled up, I said, "Coey if you're smart you'll get right back in your pickup and leave, because if you don't you're fixin' to be workin'!" Well he's not smart, he stayed and yep, he ended up digging and planting, and we couldn't have done it with out him! Thanks Sonny!

Kerry Don kept saying we're going be here until midnight!

But we weren't because we had all that good help!

A few weeks later we got the newest addition, our sign.

Justin made my sign... thanks Jun! So all my plants are still living! I know it's a miracle... even through all this drought, they're looking promising. Oh and we don't want to forget my roadrunner (see him in the corner). He's from my secret pal. Secret Pal whoever you are, thank you and you must know me pretty good. The card said "BEEP! BEEP! Now your rooster has a roadrunner friend." Too cute! Adios, Y'all!

My Punk's Birthday Weekend

Yes that is in fact what I said! When we have Easter at the 'ole Backwards K,

well we hunt Easter eggs, shoot potato guns and eat strawberries....

Pake helped Tori stuff eggs.... they were supposed to be putting a dollar bill in there randomly,

I think he was randomly sticking those dollar bills in his pocket!

Scouty hunted eggs! She's a picky little Easter egg hunter though,

if she didn't like the looks of the egg, well she wasn't going to put it her basket.

Tater Jack on the other hand, he's not picky. He wants them ALL, well as long as they have $1 in them!

Speaking of Tater Jack, he's a HAM!

I was trying to get a picture of Red and Keith........ anyway, I'm soo glad they came to see us.

So here's the potato gun part.... see the boys have a potato gun. Actually, I bought them this potato gun at the family reunion (what kind of Mother am I?) Anyway, thanks to Cousin Rocky! So, my boys love to shoot the potato gun when we have company.... see this makes us look like real dignified folks. Or not? I'd also like to mention Cousin Pete blessed us with his presence (he's in the orange).

The potato gun is absolutely the coolest thing since sliced bread. It's loud and powerful!

Pake said, "Daddy this thing don't kick too bad"! Anyway, they shot potatoes and confetti eggs and anything they could shove down in there... What ignites it you ask? Well if you notice on the ground there is a can of hairspray. Yes hairspray... who knew right!

Finally here's the strawberry part......

I made chocolate covered strawberries,

I'd also like to mention that Autumn and I beat Tripp and Tori in shuffle board... HA!

Motley Mommas and Babies

What could possibly brighten your day more than a bunch of new babies calves? Seriously???

This little booger brightened my day.... he was the cutest little fart I've seen in a while.

I named him Zorro, the masked Zorro!

Then, I asked KD if I could load him up and bring him to the house and he said, "NO TANDY!"

I'm still not over it either!

I also saw Lucy Lou and she and her calf seem to be doing just fine!

She'd kill me if she knew I posted this picture of her... it does kinda make her butt look big.

Oh wait I think cows butts are supposed to big BIG! My mistake!

And I just LOVE how mommas and babies motley markings sometimes match. I just love to go see the cows, especially this time year when they're calving. It sure brightened my Friday and I had to share.

Rubbin, son, is Racin'

We made our annual trip to TMS, Texas Motor Speedway that is! I like that place... ALOT! The weather was perfect! Well except for the wind, but heck we're used to the wind. The trip was great and more memories were made at TMS and I like that place! Oh I think I already mentioned that =)

This year they raced under the lights! Night races rock!

We got to go racin' two nights in a row.

My favorite part (well one of my favorite parts) was meeting Jeff Hammond...

he's a commentator on Speed.

Another favorite part, was when Jack took us to the end field and to pit row. Judy thought it was cool too!

The next favorite part was getting to see them film speed. Jeff Hammond was sporting his hat and PLUS Greg Biffle was a guest on the show. And I'm a Biffle fan!

Judy and I also took a picture with a pace car in victory lane. Again, thanks Jack!

Danny and Barb went for the first time... they're really drag racing fans.

They're not into all those left turns. But we're glad they tried it!

Kerry Don and Boomer however, are into all those left turns.

Tami and I got a picture with Dale Jr. Oh wait I think that's just his truck! Oh well we still love JR.

Oh I forgot about this part... it's probably the best part!!!! When the jets fly over right after the national anthem, it'll make you have goose bumps and bring a tear to your eye.... it's true, really it is.

Then, when you see the checkered flag and one of your favorite drivers win! Priceless.... well really it was Judy's favorite driver, but hey he drives a FORD and really that's all the matters, right?

Then, it was time to go home, and we all cried for a while... not really. But we had a little mishap. We parked the Painter's trailer backwards so their door would open up to camp. But then their neighbors were in the way and they weren't going home... so they couldn't hook up. Never fear though, we had a bunch of country boys and they figured it out, with a piece of plywood and floor jack... they scooted that baby right around so they could hook up.

Then it was time to load up and we took one more picture and said goodbye to TMS!

We will miss TMS, but we were sure glad to head home to see our boys. I missed those punks, can't imagine why. I also want to thank all my awesome friends that watched my punks. You ladies are the best: Lisa, Traci and Kymm... yall rock! In the meantime, it's back to work =( when's Good Friday?

The Longhorns Go Undefeated

Tate played basketball this year. He had never played before and he knew nothing about the game. Anyway, thank goodness he was picked by the Longhorns, because they are all stars. The twins are the coaches sons and they are the best little 4th grade basketball players I have ever see play! I'm not even making that up, they are good! I think they could whip some high school kids.... they are FAST and QUICK and can make a basket faster than lightening. But this whole team, did great! Everyone got to play!

This group of boys were undefeated! They beat all the Silverton, Nazareth and Happy teams. They were awesome! Ok, ok I know I'm braggin sorry, I'm just a proud Momma!

This kid was so excited and his brother was excited for him too!

And best of all, Little Linc came to his first basketball game and we had to get his picture!

Well basketball is over, now it's time for some baseball!

Redneck Country Bumpkin Landscaping

I had this idea to put a fake ranch entrance in my circle driveway. I needed cedar post and I couldn't find them, especially not tall ones. So I found this guy down by Burnet and Marble Falls that had every size I needed plus he would cut the tall ones with a Y in the top. So yes I know I'm CRAZY! I drove 400 miles to get the posts......

My sweet husband rounded up the guys Saturday morning and started on the project! I'm not so sure Chad and Butch were too excited about the whole thing.... but thank goodness for their help because we got 'er DONE =)

They had to stand up on a pallet to put the top rail on.... it fit perfect and was even level!

Who knew a little old cedar fence could make a girl so happy!

And the neighbors had to come see what the heck we were doing.... Daisy, Bootsie and Dixie said it was looking good! And Dan Byrd even said he thought it was "alright". And if Dan Byrd says it's "alright" then by golly it's "alright". I'm just saying.... te/he

The boys worked hard! We put down landscaping cloth to keep out the weeds. I hope it works.... I'm not too much on pulling weeds.

Then, JoeByrd came by and wanted to know why in the heck I wanted that old rusty plow????

He just doesn't get it! Does he?! He said it's gotta be John Deere green for JoeByrd.

I wanted the plow.... the older and the rustier the bettter.

Kerry Don says this is an old horse drawn plow and I assume it was Wylie Byrds.

I'm sure there's a story behind it. Anyone know it? I wonder how old it is?

Then we filled it in with gravel. It's a start but we've got a LONG ways to go.

We can't plant til mid April. My goal is to have drought resistant plants that don't require ANY attention. BUT what I really want is a Yucca that has a trunk, but they are very hard to find and hard to transplant. Anyone know where I could get one? Anyone have any suggestions?

Spring Break Road Trip II

So the coolest part of the the Horseshoe Bay Resort was the golf course. Well it was an 18 hole putt putt golf course, but all the greens were real greens. It was awesome!

They had a blast with the water arch... see the water shooting over their head.... kinda cool!

We putted and putted and we weren't too good. Probably not a big surprise though... ha/ha

I loved it... it was so pretty!

Tater Jack thought it was baseball!

It was the most beautiful landscaping, with waterfalls, streams, fountains, and palms.

Did I mention that they played in the water arch? They got wet!

We had to park our redneck ATV trailer with cedar post at the airport

and this was the view looking down on Horsheshoe Bay.... it was a site to see!

Then, we hit the road and we passed this gorgeous ranch entrance!

Then we stopped outside of Llano and saw the bald eagles.... WAY cool!

Next, we stopped and bought cactus! I was on a mission. And today we worked in the yard and if I may say so myself it looks good (guess what I will blog about it )! It was all worth the 2 day road trip with 3 punks that fought and entertained me the whole way!

Spring Break Road Trip

Good ole Spring Break finally came to see us and I was soo happy! Then I started on a mission to find cedar posts because I have a project in mind for my yard (more on all that later), but I couldn't find cedar posts ANYWHERE in the Texas panhandle. SO a friend found them listed in Craigslist, so I called the guy.... he had what I wanted and would even cut them fresh. SO, we loaded up in the ole Excursion pulling our ATV trailer and headed south. Heck 400 miles really isn't that FAR right?

Actually it was kinda far. But we made it and these nice guys that had just cut the big posts loaded us up. So we asked the landowner that had sold them to us, where we could go and spend the night and have alittle fun. I had three punks in tow and they wanted to swim! So he says..... aw yeah about 10 miles down the road at Marble Falls there's the Horseshoe Bay. I though heck we'll check it out..... so I plugged it into my GPS and hit the road....

So picture this in you head.... a beat up old Excursion pulling a beat up ATV trailer, full of cedar post that are hanging out, 3 snotty nose punks with ball caps and cowboy hats on and then, me, one red neck Momma with a thick hick accent.....

We pull up to the resort and see this........ Opps holy cow! This place might be alittle fancy for us. Can you imagine what the Valets thought when they saw us coming? But come to find out, our money is just as good as city folks and they gave us a room. And we felt like we were up town!

So we took the shuttle down to the Yacht Club and we thought we were at a beach!

That's Horseshoe Bay and to us that's alot of water!

Talk about beautiful landscaping.

We had supper (or as the city folk say... dinner) outside by the bay. The boys loved it! Our trip was quite eventful, so part two will be coming up! Until then, hope everyone is enjoying spring break.

Baby Bobcats

Kerry Don and I saw 5 baby bobcats yesterday just right north east of Roll-a-Cone. Well they could have possibly been baby teenager bobcats. I'm just saying they weren't baby babies, but they weren't full grown either. Three of them ran off, but these two just hung out in the tree and looked at us.

Of course, this is the one and only time I didn't have my Canon! But I got a few pictures with my phone.

They really weren't that scared. Kerry Don even said they were so durn cute he didn't even want to shoot them! OK seriously I don't think he said cute. Maybe he said cool. Cool Cats!

I, of course, wanted to take them home, declaw them and let them live at the Backwards K.

But I don't think Maxie would like them.

It looks like she's wearing her student's Elmer Fudd cap. Cool Cap.... Cool Cats too. Is it Friday yet?

Snow Dawgs

Riding on an old car hood behind the RZR, what more fun could a little boy have?

And make no mistake, Miss Maxie is right in the middle of all the action too!

She follows the boys EVERYWHERE.... then she can hardly walk! Her hips are bad, so she has to hobble around on 3 legs.... BUT she has to be with her boys!

Mind you, these boys are CRAZY, it was like 4 degrees, ok maybe it was about 17.
But the drifts they were riding on were in the shade so it had to be about 10.

I didn't personally witness them getting air, but I'm certain it possibly could have happened..

That's Tater, he was all bundled up with a mask and all, then he got in the pickup to warm up and all the little rascal had on his feet were one pair of no show socks and irrigation boots!

He assured me next time he'd find his snow boots!

We had to go tell them to come in, that it was gettin dark!

I assure you, Miss Maxie got a ride in the RZR when they headed to the house!

Her and her snow dawgs had a blast!

Meatful Mondays

This blog is for my sister.... Ok she's on a mission! Here's the deal..... Oprah has started this crusade for Meatless Mondays. Meatless Mondays are you kidding me? WELL y'all know we're BEEF people! And we eat BEEF and we're proud of it!

SO Tori wants everyone to posts their beef recipes on Mondays.

I didn't have time to take pictures of mine this time..... maybe next week..... I mean hello I had to watch the super bowl yesterday.

Here's my recipe:

Chuck Roast Done Easy

Chuck Roast

1 pkg of dry Lipton Onion Soup

Ground Pepper

That's it you say? Yep that's it I say.

Throw your roast in a cake pan, sprinkle the Onion Soup mix on top, and season with pepper. I recommend putting about a 1/4-1/2" of water in the pan, too! Then seal that baby up tight with foil and pop it in the oven at 325 for about 4 hours. I mean it's that simple. Sometimes, I call KD at lunch and say "Hey babe will you throw a roast in the oven, so I don't have to cook tonite." He says "Sure babe".... cuz he likes roast too! And he likes me to make gravy, see that water you add to the pan turns out PERFECT for the makins of brown gravy! This roast will just fall all apart and it's also good slapped in a tortilla with alittle BBQ and Picante sauce, for a spicey beef roll! So there's my recipe and I'm stickin to it!

Well I wanted to include a picture of a few of our cows.... it snowed yesterday and we had to get out and haul hay.... these gals were pretty happy to see us!

Rockin'

Today we went Rockin' NO not rockin and rollin!

There are lots of purty rocks at the ranch.

I like this ROCK... reackon I could put it in my backyard? LOL

Rocks from the ranch really are rad!

Everyone hauled rocks!

We almost got too many rocks though...

The RZR was rockin and rollin' here.... yep we had to go get the pickup.

My boys are so sweet for haulin rocks for me.

Did yall know the prickly pears are pink right now? I just had to throw that in there.

I also want to thank my KD, because he likes rocks too and he's going back with tractor to get some big ones! We found out real quick that we didn't have enough muscles.

I just had to throw this in too! Gosh if I was his Momma I'd be ashamed.

Their Daddy bought them sunflower seeds and he should be ashamed too!

I (heart) WINDMILLS

Today I became the happiest girl in Swisher County, heck maybe in all of Texas!

My sweet husband (that can do anything) put up my windmill!

We hauled the tower to the house on a trailer and used the well rig's crane to stand it up!

It's tall!

Then, KD welded it down to the metal plates in the concrete holes he poured.

Then he climbed the tower and I told him please don't fall off, we need you around here!!!!

Then, raising the head was a little tricky! I thought how in the world are we going to do this???

But KD climbed the tower again and guided it while I ran the crane which was actually the scarey part.

So, there she is! The Backwards K now has an old windmill in the yard.

I heart windmills.... I really do!

Now I need a wagon. Anyone want to give me one?

Prime Rib.... Need I Say More

On the first day of this year, 1-1-11, we were invited to supper. See I knew it wasn't just any ole supper. This was one of those meals that you dream about all of your life. It just so happens that this guy we know can cook prime rib. And who doesn't like prime rib.... I mean seriously....

Prime rib, Sauteed baby portabellas, twice baked taters and salad w/a red wine vinegar dressing.

Can I just say perfection?

MUSHROOMS... my fav. These baby portabellas were totally to die for....

could it be the whiskey that made them so good?

Now this is a beautiful site.... a perfectly pink prime rib..... is your mouth watering yet?

Then, there's the sauce and let me just tell y'all.... Actually I can't.... it's so good I could never explain.

So these are the cool folks that invited us for the perfect supper.
I'm just saying when's the last time someone cooked prime rib for you?

It was kinda awesome to start the year out right, with some extra special folks.

Christmas 2010 Wrapped Up

Christmas break is great! Well, it was great, it's obviously over now.

Anyway, here's a look at some of the interesting events this season.

Pake got braces! At first he thought they were cool, until he realized how much his mouth hurt. The funny thing is that Tate can't wait to get them, but with any luck maybe he won't need them. Now that would make Momma happy, because her pocket book may never recover....

The boys are rotten now, well more so anyway! The kicker is these cool electric remote control trucks, break down frequently and I'm the runner to Amarillo to get parts... thanks Hobby Time.... thanks!

And these big boys can't wait to play with this little guy.... yikes!

Now Scouty, she's all about the cooking or is it the mess making?

Yes, that's their Mimi! It looks like Tater's thinking WOW she's just as crazy as me! Nice Bubba teeth Mimi!

That's my sissy.... she's crafty! She sews! Yeah, she makes me look bad... but she made this great soft camera strap cover and guess what yall? It's zebra print! I know yall would have never guess it.

We had a gingerbread competition, and regardless of what Tori says.... we definetly won!

Ok what ever, they were both good!

Anyway, this Holiday was memorable and wonderful and great, and it's over unfortunately....

Windmill Update

They worked on my windmill and I am so excited! It was no easy task, Kerry Don informed me.

AND the job is far from being done.

They cut the tower down.

They put the head together.

They put the tail on too!

It's bigger than I imagined. Also, we decided to leave it all orginal with it's faded paint and rust.

Yall I can't wait to see it in my yard! Did I mention how excited I am?

And by the way, I think Kerry Don and Chad might be a little excited too. But they'll never admit it.

The Adams Family

We had the WHOLE Adams family over for lunch and pictures. Thanks to Ron and Kylene for taking them for us.... it was an ordeal. But everyone was patient and cooperative and I think we managed to get everyone's mug shot. My husband comes from a family of 5 boys, so I will start with the youngest son....

This is baby of the family.... Joe Wayne, Julia, Cimmaron and Kaitlyn.

Aren't the girls too cute? And you usually won't catch them without their cowgirl boots.

Yall already know who these punks are...

This is the middle child.... Delwin, Kyser, Kristie, Kendi, Marli and Ty.

See Kyser, Tate's twin, they are in the same grade

and I forsee them getting into some trouble at some point.

Drew, Dexter (also know as Uncle Cracker), Bailey, Sherry, Brenden and Aaron. These kids show pigs and I think they probably have like 16 pigs... now my boys want pigs =)

The oldest son is Kennen.....

Bradley, Ashton and his wife Jaime, Clay Bret, Joni Sue, Becky, Tyleigh (Ashton's daughter) and Kennen

They live in east Texas, too far away, but they visit a couple times a year. They have an Amish Furniture Store and I really want to go and visit some day soon!

So here's the whole crew with Grandma Bryd and Freva and Don Adams

And then here are all the grandkids and one great grand.... are yall confused yet? I know my boys griped and some of the other guys griped because we made them take these pictures... BUT won't we be so glad 20 years from now. WOW I wonder how big the picture will be in 20 years? BIG I bet.

My Windmill

This is my Christmas! A windmill!

Oh wait, I already have a windmill.... a real one! But it's still laying on its side, with its head in bits and pieces out back at the farm shop. See KD has been reeeaaally busy and hasn't had time to put up my windmill. So this morning, we let the boys open a Christmas present (and yes now they're playing Mario Cart and I will never get to watch TV in my living room again... but that's another story) and KD mentions that he had a Christmas present for me. I was furious because we'd already said we weren't doing Christmas with each other this year, because well quite frankly I'm spoiled rotten as it is... anyway he presents this box to me and I open it, and there it was the cutest durn little windmill I've ever seen in my life. It's like approximately 4 inches tall, and all the little details and parts are there. KD snickers and says there's your windmill, then he promptly mentions that it was all Chad's idea... I guess Chad is dreading my windmill project. Chad you must remember who signs your check ha/ha! Well I'm actually very proud of my miniature windmill and it just makes me look forward to seeing my 30 ft tall windmill in the yard. So ha/ha the jokes on me but I like it!
