Tandy's Crazy Cows

I am the proud owner of 24 of these beautiful F1 cross cows.  What's a F1?  Well it is a cross between a hereford and brahma.  They are almost all brindle or tiger stripped.  I think they are adorable and cute!  And no I'm NOT raising bucking bulls!  LOL

I haven't been able to get just tons of good pictures yet.... have I mentioned it has been cold here this week!  Brrr.....

They seem to like it on KD Adams Farms!

Well until they put them in the shoot, gave them shots, branded them and put this pink ear tag in their ear.

This old girl is like, "NO pink is just not my color!"

She was hollering too!  "Why me?  Why pink?"  After the guys worked them, they told that we will need to be working on their manners.  Evidentially they are little high headed and wild... Hmmm  ;). I think we can fix them, once we get them settled at their farm and start caking them.  And yes I bet I will get more pictures then!  They will all be calving soon too!  Psst I'll keep you posted!  Also I'm pretty sure they will all be named as soon as I get to know their personalities alittle better.

In other news:  yes it been awhile since I have blogged and since my sister did... There is just no way she's going to show me up!  Lol I have missed it and I will work on getting caught up!

Y'all stay warm!  Thankfully KD took me town last week and bought me some new coveralls.  I felt real special.

Summertime

Summer has been  pretty awesome this year!  We spent the weekends in June at the lake.... We managed to work a little in between!

Tate played catcher for the Rangers!

It was a fun season and they won lots of games, just not the championship....

At the lake, Bryan, Tate & Pake by the Eagle's Nest.

Tate, Pake, KD and Bryan loving the water and the green grass!

My boys.... My life!

Newt built us this awesome fence and we all helped!

The boys  burning the dead tree piles behind Roll A Cone since we got a big rain!

Cutting wheat!

We had enough to have seed for next year's crop and for that we are thankful!

Pake plowing on, I must admit, the sorriest tractor we own.  He was not happy about no AC and no radio... Bless his heart!

Pake finished his flat bed!  Finally!

Playing - back at the lake riding and hanging out at the swimming hole!

The new toy that Pake claims... But we all love to drive!

Back to work... We've been getting in Momma cow and calf pairs!

Pake helping Ty and Allen work them.

Then back to the swimming hole!

They spotted a snake YIKES!  That's why I never jumped in!

My babies Skeeter and Annie are having a fabulous summer!  They may or may not be spoiled!  Anyway, this summer sure has been full of memories and it's not over yet!

Cope Creek

News Alert!  MacKenzie Lake came up 12 foot!

This is Cope Creek, aka "the Chili Bowl".  Newt posted a really cool video of it running (check it out on my Facebook page).  We get super excited about things like this!

And of course, they had to jump!  I just videoed!

Rail and Pake looking off the falls.

It's a pretty good ride over to Cope Falls.

We also had a poker run with a fairly large group! We met lots of new friends and had a great weekend!  If you haven't been out to the lake lately, it's worth a trip!

It Rained, Finally!

We got 3 inches of rain on June 7th!  It was amazing and scary.  We were across town at KD's cousins house.  We decided to leave about the time it hit.... It was a flood!  It was awesome!  So the next morning we got out to check everything.  Well we found 2 of our sprinklers upside down.

This sprinkler is new to the farm and had just been moved to this place.  The cotton (planted under the cover crop of wheat) is ok.

We speculate that it may have been a little twister.

Just across the road to the south is the other sprinkler.
It stinks, but again we're thankful for the rain!

The boys have been playing in the tail water pitt!

Got the old boat out (passed down from Tesla).  I bought 4 bottles of Flex Seal for them.  Did y'all know that stuff is $12.99 a can!?

They also made a swing!  Who needs a swimming pool when you've got a tailwater pitt. Have I mentioned we're thankful for the rain?

Channing Branding 2014

I finally got a group picture this year. What a great group of guys:  Button, Dakota & Hunter (brothers), Braden, Walter, Powder, Dan, Shawn, Randy, Todd, Ty & Alan.

Walter takes care of the ranch and our cows.
He's pretty handy and we're really thankful to have him up there!

Tate and Pake gave shots.

Each cowboy gets to drag calves.  They all love it when it's their turn.

I usually take about 953 pictures, but this one is one of favorites.

I like to play like I'm a photographer, but clearly I"m not....  shadows....

I just love momma cows and their babies.  And when you're there in person, the cows are balling and belloring at their babies.  It's a beautiful sound... guess you just have to be there.

I like horse's butt too...  random  lol

Sometimes I almost get ran over taking pictures.

Tate flanked a few....

KD, Walter and Alan discusses important matters... I'm guess something about cows...

This young guy, Button, can drag calves like a pro.

I branded a few bunches.... hopefully I got the K on backwards...

We got to spend 2 nights at the ranch.  We always cook breakfast and a steak dinner for the crew.  It's just an all around fun time.  We are so thankful for all the cowboys that help!  And to top it all off, it rained almost an inch while we were there!
