A Night in Paris

Prom time!

My little sister was so sweet to come and help me!  I was in charge of putting some finger foods together.

It's not stressful at all to put together a food table for 75-100.

But, it's fun!

The fruit was a hit!

My favorite were the little cheesecake bites.

Lacy & Daniele looked so pretty!

We had it at Destiny's Garden in Amarillo.  This place is so nice!

Amy and Kevin

Taylor Jo and Addie took Andy and he was prom king.  So sweet!  Brings a tear to my eye...

Hannah, Jon and Criselda

Brianna and Khalia

Francisco and Patty

Jess, Cassie, Anthony and his date.

Omar, Jasmine and I

All of the these kids are so special to me!  I just love them all!

The THS Junior sponosors!  We're smiling because we only have to do Prom every 4 years.

Christy and I...  Prom was a success!

Pake's first trip to State!

Pake's little trailer went all the way down to Corpus.  He got best of show.  His Momma was proud!

We had lots of great kids and their projects.
This is my nephew Ty, another Ty and Gentry with their cooker built for a guy in Tulia.

With Mr Wilfong, Zane and Preston built a great trailer too.

Behind Pake's trailer is a diesel trailer built by a Justin.

Mr. McCaslin, Ty and my nephew Aaron with their tractor head from our automotive class.

Joe rebuilt this motor and received a blue ribbon.

Pake getting his best of show plaque.

Tyler and Aaron with their best of show plaque.

And this kid?  He's a future student of our THS welding program!  Yes Tater Jack you're funny!

We were very impressed with the state competition.  There are many categories from building, auto body, graphic designing, culinary arts, cake decorating, cosmetology, welding & wood work... just to name a few.  The kids are really learning a trade and I think this is what education is all about.

Down South on the Texas Coast

We had a nice little va-ca down south to the Texas Coast.  We love it down there!  Pake was going with the school for Texas State Skills USA, so we decided to tag along.

The first day we went bay fishing. But, we are almost as interested in the sights we see in the Corpus Christi Bay as the fish we catch.  The oil rigs and ships and cranes are so BIG and so cool!

But the fish we catch are pretty cool too!  This is a BIG Bad BLACK drum.

We used these crab for bait.

Tater Jack hooked a big one too!

He put up a pretty good fight!

He was almost as big as TATE!

He also made this cool drumming sound... I'm guessing that's where his name comes from... Ok, ok I know blonde moment but I really never knew this. He really does make a drum sound.... it was cool, really...
guess you had to be there lol

Kerry Don caught a big one too!

Not really, he just caught this cute little red fish!
Shhhh don't tell him we revealed that he had the smallest catch of the day.

So here are some of the THS guys on the trip.... we took them for a ride on the ferry over to Port A!

We love Port A and we love the CrAzY Cajun... but you probably already knew that ;)

The kids dug right in and they especially loved the snow crab legs!

They loved the beach too!

Tate, KD & I also toured the Lexington, a retired aircraft carrier.

It was way neat, checking out all the planes up on the deck.

and the inside of the ship too!  Pake and his crew had taken the hard hat tour.  They said it was very interesting as they went down into parts of the ship that aren't open to the regular tours.  Wish I had pictures of that crew but I don't.  I do have more pictures of the Skill USA guys and their project and I will share those soon!

Spring Break 2014

We had a great adventure this spring break, a great REDNECK adventure!

We went camping and ATVing.... two of our favorite things!

We saw some really mean muddy MONSTER trucks!

KD, Pake, Newt & Tater

KD & I do love some muddin' FUN!

KD & Newt cooked... in the ATV trailer!  Thank goodness for it!  The trailer became our main hang out to stay out of the dust & then rain!   But we're rednecks, we love the dirt and mud!

The kids loved it too and let me tell you these girls don't mind the mud!

Pake & I at the Turnpike Troubadours concert and I might add we were standing in ankle deep mud....
thank goodness for irrigation boots!

Tate being the funny guy he loves to be!

Did I mention we saw some Monster trucks?

Here we were up on Redneck Mountain, watching a side-by-side race.
It's basically like motocross just with RZRs!

And one of the best parts of the whole weekend, was that I ran into one of my Townsend cousins and his son, Trent and Josh.  By the way.... do y'all think we look alike?  I do, we could probably pass for siblings.

So Spring Break 2014 has come and gone.... but it was fun while it lasted and will not soon be forgotten!
